SG Pipers Win Women’s Hockey India League Title in Thrilling Shootout

SG Pipers emerged victorious in the Women’s Hockey India League 2025-26 final after defeating Shrachi Bengal Tigers 3-2 in a shootout. The match ended 1-1 in regulation time, with Preeti Dubey and Lalremsiami scoring for SG Pipers and Shrachi Bengal Tigers, respectively. Captain Navneet Kaur, Juana Castellaro, and Lola Riera’s efforts secured the win for SG Pipers in the shootout.

Hockey India League announced prize money of Rs 1.5 Crore for SG Pipers, Rs 1 Crore for Shrachi Bengal Tigers, and Rs 50 Lakh for third-place team Ranchi Royals. Ranchi Royals received the Fairplay Award, while individual awards were given to players from different teams.

SG Pipers’ Bansari Solanki was named the Best Goalkeeper, Sunelita Toppo earned the Upcoming Player award, and Captain Navneet Kaur was crowned Player of the tournament. Shrachi Bengal Tigers’ Agustina Gorzelany finished as the Top Scorer.

The intense match saw both teams battling in the midfield, with SG Pipers missing early scoring opportunities. Shrachi Bengal Tigers took the lead in the second quarter but SG Pipers fought back to equalize in the 53rd minute. The game went to a shootout where SG Pipers emerged victorious.
