Shafali Verma has moved up to sixth place in the ICC Women’s T20I Rankings after her impressive 57 against South Africa, nearing the top five. Meanwhile, India’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, has climbed two spots to joint 11th, showing a return to form.

The rankings update coincides with the ongoing T20I series between India and South Africa, with players from both teams being recognized for their recent performances ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales starting on June 12. Smriti Mandhana remains India’s highest-ranked batter at fourth place.

In the bowling rankings, Sadia Iqbal maintains her top position, while South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlaba has surged to joint sixth after a strong performance against India. South African players like Laura Wolvaardt, Annerie Dercksen, and Sune Luus have also seen notable improvements in their rankings.

India’s left-arm spinner, Shree Charani, has progressed by moving up four spots to 23rd. In the all-rounders’ list, Melie Kerr continues to lead, with significant improvements seen by players like Chloe Tryon and Annerie Dercksen.

The ODI rankings have also witnessed changes following the Bangladesh-Sri Lanka series opener, with Sharmin Akhter rising to 22nd position after an 86-run innings. Sobhana Mostary and several bowlers from both teams have also moved up in the rankings.
