Bollywood icon Shankar Mahadevan, known for his musical prowess, is gearing up to present Anandam, a unique Bhakti music experience. Mahadevan, reflecting on his deep connection with devotional music, expressed his passion for it, having conducted devotional concerts for over three decades. He highlighted the spiritual essence of Carnatic classical music, which forms the foundation of his musical journey.
Anandam-The Symphony of Devotion, curated by Mahadevan, will feature renowned artists like Sonu Nigam, Shaan, and Usha Uthup, among others, promising a grand musical and cultural extravaganza. Mahadevan, a member of the Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy trio famous for composing Bollywood music, was honored with a doctorate by Birmingham City University in 2023 for his contributions to the music industry.
Shankar Mahadevan rose to fame as an Indi-pop sensation, blending Carnatic, Hindustani, and Jazz influences in his music. His album “Breathless” achieved massive success in 1998, topping the Indian music charts. Notably, Mahadevan’s talent has earned him a Grammy Award and three nominations, showcasing his versatility and musical excellence across various genres.
