Veteran Bollywood actor and TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating that their political tactics in West Bengal would not be successful. Sinha highlighted a viral video that he claims reveals alleged BJP conspiracies, particularly mentioning TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee’s exposure of a ‘1,000-crore deal’ scandal impacting the nation.
Sinha condemned the BJP’s practice of welcoming leaders accused of corruption into the party and subsequently clearing them of charges, pointing out instances where individuals involved in major scams were given prominent roles after joining the BJP. He questioned whether similar actions would be taken against accused leaders in West Bengal.
Praising Mamata Banerjee as an ‘Iron Lady’ with proven leadership, Shatrughan Sinha expressed confidence in TMC’s victory in the upcoming elections, emphasizing the continued support of the people of West Bengal for her. He also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for unfulfilled promises such as job creation and financial benefits, which have faced public backlash.
Bringing attention to pending funds under the MGNREGA, Sinha alleged that significant dues meant for beneficiaries in West Bengal have not been released by the Centre, escalating the political rhetoric in the state ahead of the elections.
