Actor Shekhar Suman, known for his new chat show, has been increasingly vocal. He recently took aim at self-proclaimed Godmen, highlighting how new ones emerge periodically, deceiving people who willingly become followers and fall for their tricks.
During the promotion of his show ‘The Pyramid Scheme,’ Shekhar expressed to the media, “Many saints and godmen deceive people, turning them into blind devotees. Despite many being exposed and jailed, new ones continue to surface, attracting fresh followers who are easily misled.”
Recounting an anecdote about a Godman and a follower who scammed him, Shekhar narrated, “A devotee offered increasing sums of money to the Baba, who eventually gave him a significant amount. The Baba, involved in dubious schemes, ended up losing a substantial sum to the follower who disappeared with the money, cautioning against falling for such traps.”
Shekhar warned, “Various deceptive schemes, including pyramid schemes promising unrealistic returns, are prevalent at different levels. People, especially in rural areas, must exercise caution to avoid becoming victims of such fraudulent practices.”
The web series ‘The Pyramid Scheme,’ produced by The Viral Fever and available on Prime Video, is a creation of Shreyansh Pandey, directed by Ashish R Shukla and Shreyansh Pandey.
