The Shiv Sena (UBT) has advised Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to avoid making comments that could deepen divisions between northern and southern states. This advice follows Reddy’s recent statements in Bengaluru where he expressed concerns about people in southern India feeling like “second-class citizens.” Reddy had pointed out the regional origin of the Prime Minister and the President, suggesting a lack of representation for the south.
The Shiv Sena’s response emphasized the importance of viewing every state as an integral part of the country, promoting national unity over regional differences. The party, in alliance with the Congress in the INDIA bloc, urged Reddy to refrain from statements that could create regional rifts and instead focus on fostering national cohesion. Highlighting India’s diversity, the Shiv Sena spokesperson stressed the need for equal respect and recognition for all states, irrespective of their geographical, linguistic, or cultural distinctions.
According to the Shiv Sena (UBT), India’s strength lies in its unity amidst diversity, with people standing together despite regional variations. The party emphasized that during times of conflict, the country unites against external threats without considering regional divides. The spokesperson called for mutual respect among all states and expressed hope for a future where such regional distinctions diminish.
