India’s Shivam Dube was honored as the Impact Player of the Match after India’s win against Pakistan, securing their spot in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Super 8 stage. Dube, recognized for his all-round skills, credited fielding coach T. Dilip for his influence.
Physiotherapist Yogesh Kumar presented Dube with the award in the dressing room at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo for his significant performance in the game.
Reflecting on his role, Dube acknowledged his coach’s contribution to his fielding standards, emphasizing the importance of the match and expressing gratitude to Dilip Sir for his guidance.
Defending champions India clinched a convincing 61-run victory over Pakistan in the Group A clash, advancing to the Super 8s of the T20 World Cup. Ishan Kishan’s impressive 77-run innings guided India to a competitive total of 175/7.
Pakistan struggled in their chase, with early blows from Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah reducing them to 13/3. Despite Usman Khan’s resistance with 44 runs, Pakistan fell short as India’s bowlers, including spinners, maintained pressure, restricting Pakistan to 114 all out in 18 overs.
