Outgoing Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah praised CM-designate D.K. Shivakumar for his unanimous election as the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader. He entrusted Shivakumar with the responsibility of continuing the state’s development journey, citing his commitment, capability, and vision. Acknowledging the Congress party’s national setbacks, Siddaramaiah stressed the importance of upholding ideological values to avoid electoral failure. He called for strengthening the party’s position through Shivakumar’s leadership to overcome challenges. Siddaramaiah raised concerns about attempts to divide the country along caste and religious lines, questioning the Constitution and suppressing dissent, urging for a renewed ideological struggle based on constitutional values.
