Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Congress Working Committee member Siddaramaiah praised Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, calling it a win for the country’s awakened students and youth. He commended the peaceful protests by students demanding accountability from the government, terming it a triumph of democracy and the Constitution.

Siddaramaiah lauded the students for their determination and consciousness, highlighting their resilience in the face of challenges during the protests in Delhi. He credited the peaceful demonstrators for inspiring hope and emphasized the importance of their actions in bringing about positive change.

The senior Congress leader also acknowledged the support of his party and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi in backing the movement. He emphasized that while Pradhan’s resignation is significant, it alone cannot address all the issues in the education sector.

Siddaramaiah criticized the current government, alleging commercialization of sectors like education under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He stressed the need for meaningful reforms and a change in leadership at the Centre for substantial improvements in the education system and the functioning of the nation.

Encouraging students and youth to persist in their efforts, Siddaramaiah urged them not to view Pradhan’s resignation as the end of their struggle. He called for continued accountability measures against the government and reiterated the Congress party’s commitment to supporting the people in safeguarding democracy and the Constitution.
