A tense situation unfolded outside the District Magistrate’s office in Bihar’s Sheohar district as students from Project Girls’ Senior Secondary School staged a sit-in protest. They accused a teacher of inappropriate behavior towards a girl student and demanded strict action. The incident reportedly took place within the school premises when the teacher questioned the girl while she was charging her mobile phone. Allegedly, the teacher threatened to inform her family, insinuating she was talking to her boyfriend. The students claimed the teacher then blackmailed and behaved inappropriately with the girl, causing distress. The students gathered at the District Magistrate’s office demanding the teacher’s immediate arrest. They also raised concerns about the school’s management, highlighting instances where a male teacher was sent when a student fell ill instead of a female teacher. The protest caused chaos at the office until the Principal of the school, Deepak Kumar, responded, stating he was not present during the incident and that an investigation would be conducted. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Avinash Kunal intervened to calm the students, assuring them of formal action. The protest ended after the SDM promised that a case would be registered based on the victim’s written application, leading to a detailed investigation and appropriate measures. District officials affirmed that the matter would be handled seriously and sensitively, with strict adherence to the law during the investigation.
