The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Kanniyakumari found a skin clinic responsible for deficient service. They ordered the clinic to refund treatment fees and compensate a woman with Rs 2 lakh. The woman experienced severe acne and facial breakouts after a hyperpigmentation treatment at V-Care Skin Clinic’s Nagercoil branch.
The complaint was filed by Y. Jershini from Kanniyakumari district in Tamil Nadu. She underwent a Q-switch laser facial treatment that led to skin damage and irritation. The clinic applied a rose mask causing the issues immediately after the procedure on February 22, 2025. Jershini sought a refund and compensation for the suffering caused by the treatment.
The clinic argued that the complainant’s skin was dehydrated during assessment. They claimed to have applied an aloe gel intermediary before the rose mask. However, the consumer forum sided with the complainant after reviewing evidence including photographs and medical records. The commission found the clinic at fault for the skin damage and resultant issues.
