Solidarity marches were organized in Karnah and Gurez border towns of Jammu and Kashmir to remember the Pahalgam terror attack anniversary. Over 2,000 students in Karnah Sub Division participated in the marches to honor the 26 victims of the attack and ‘Operation Sindoor’. Students from various schools condemned terrorism and expressed support for the nation, Armed Forces, and affected families.
The students’ active involvement signifies the younger generation’s rejection of violence and advocacy for democracy in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Armed Forces’ steadfast dedication continues to instill confidence and hope in the region, emphasizing that unity and patriotism prevail over terror and propaganda.
In Gurez, a large rally was held to commemorate the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, paying tribute to the victims, including Adil Hussain Shah, a local pony operator killed while protecting tourists. Students, civilians, and members of civil society joined the rally, denouncing terrorism and standing in solidarity with the affected families to promote peace and denounce violence.
Additionally, a brief rally led by BJP activists, including local leader Altaf Thakur, emphasized peace, unity, and the fight against terrorism. The activists reiterated their commitment to upholding national values while remembering the terror victims and showing support for their families during a memorial ceremony in Pahalgam.
