Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was on a 21-day hunger strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, has been moved to a hospital due to deteriorating health. His blood parameters are slightly altered, requiring continuous monitoring for potential complications despite his stable condition. Medical experts are providing necessary care to manage the effects of prolonged fasting.

The hospital teams from VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital and AIIMS, New Delhi, emphasize the need for sustained medical intervention and round-the-clock monitoring. Wangchuk’s wife has requested an early discharge for shifting him to a family-chosen medical center, citing concerns over transparency in his treatment. Delhi Police intervened and transferred Wangchuk to the hospital amidst protests by activists and the public at the protest site.

The ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar, led by the CJP since June 6, demands the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak. Sonam Wangchuk, joining the protest on June 28, initiated an indefinite hunger strike.
