South African Deputy President Paul Mashatile is set to visit New Delhi for a six-day trip to India, accompanied by his wife. Mashatile, the second Deputy President from South Africa to visit India, will engage in discussions with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on June 2. Additionally, he will meet with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President C P Radhakrishnan on the same day.
Through this visit, Deputy President Mashatile aims to strengthen bilateral relations with Indian business leaders and investors. The trip includes a Roundtable discussion to attract investments for both countries. Mashatile will be joined by several South African officials, including the Minister of Health and the Minister of Small Business Development.
South Africa and India share a longstanding relationship based on historical and cultural ties, as well as a common vision for global development. Both countries are actively involved in various multilateral organizations such as NAM, BRICS, and G20. Recently, EAM Jaishankar met with South African counterpart Ronald Lamola to discuss strategic partnerships and mutual interests.
After his engagements in Delhi, Deputy President Mashatile will travel to Hyderabad. The visit underscores the commitment of both nations to enhancing bilateral ties and promoting cooperation on international platforms.
