South Africa’s Eathan Bosch will miss the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand due to a hamstring injury. Wiaan Mulder has been named as his replacement in the 15-member squad. Bosch, who plays for the Dolphins in domestic cricket, was set to make his T20I debut in New Zealand before the injury.
Mulder, with 11 T20I appearances for South Africa, will bring his international experience to the squad. His most recent T20I match was against Ireland in September 2024. Meanwhile, players in South Africa will head to New Zealand on March 8, while those in Kolkata following the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will join them on the same day.
South African players were delayed in Kolkata due to airspace closures in West Asia. Special charter flights arranged by the ICC will facilitate their departure from India. Keshav Maharaj will lead South Africa in the T20I series starting on March 15 in Mount Maunganui, with matches also scheduled in Hamilton, Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.
The series will feature double-headers, with men’s T20I matches following women’s games at the same venues. The squad includes players like Ottneil Baartman, Gerald Coetzee, George Linde, and Andile Simelane among others.
