South Korea started their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign with a 3-1 victory over Czechia at Guadalajara Stadium. Despite falling behind to Ladislav Krejci’s goal, South Korea turned the game around with goals from Hwang In-beom and Oh Hyeon-gyu.

In a thrilling match, South Korea’s Hwang equalized with a skillful finish after being set up by Lee Kangin. Oh Hyeongyu then secured the win by converting Hwang’s pass. Czechia fought hard but failed to find an equalizer, with Korea celebrating their third consecutive World Cup win against European opponents.

South Korea’s coach, Hong Myungbo, praised his team’s resilience and determination, emphasizing the importance of their upcoming match against Mexico. He commended his players for their performance and urged them to maintain their winning momentum.
