Spain’s Agusti Madalena took the lead in the IGPL Morocco Rising Stars 2026 tournament with an impressive performance, holding a four-shot advantage. Meanwhile, Indian youngster Kartik Singh showcased his talent by carding a flawless 6-under 66 in the second round at the Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort. Kartik, currently tied for fifth place, is five shots behind the leader in this event co-sanctioned by the IGPL and Asian Development Tour.
Kartik, who had a strong showing in the 2025 IGPL Tour, shot a remarkable 66 after starting from the tenth position on the second day. With a total of 7-under for 36 holes, he trails the leader Madalena by five shots. Madalena, on the other hand, leads the pack at 12-under after rounds of 68 and 64.
In the competition, three players – Ho Ho Yue, Matthew Heung, and Franco Scorzato – are tied for second place at 8-under. Kartik shares the fifth spot with Tanapat Pichaikool and Runchanapong Youprayong, both from Thailand, at 7-under.
Notable Indian players like Raghav Chugh and Syed Saqib Ahmed, who were in the Top-10 after Day 1, slipped to T-12. Another Indian, Trishul Chinnappa, also saw a drop in rankings from T-8 to T-25.
A total of 10 Indian players made the cut, finishing at 1-under. Among them, Samarth Dwivedi, Sachin Baisoya, Rashid Khan, and Arjun Bhati are tied for 36th place at 2-under. Milind Soni and Kartik Sharma also advanced, sharing the 45th spot at 1-under.
Madalena, 25, delivered a flawless round of 64, complementing his first-round 68, to secure a commanding lead at 12-under. His stellar performance gives him a four-shot advantage over the nearest competitors at 8-under. Kartik Singh, along with two Thai players, is tied for fifth place at 7-under.
The top Moroccan performer, Ayoub Id-Omar, sits in eighth place after scoring 68. Kartik Singh’s impressive round included birdies on multiple holes, leading to a strong score of 6-under 66.
In the competition, Raghav Chugh and Syed Saqib Ahmed are among the top contenders at five-under, holding the 12th position. Notable players who missed the cut include Olympian Udayan Mane, Sudhir Sharma, Shaurya Bhattacharya, and others.
Madalena expressed satisfaction with his performance, highlighting his flawless round and strong putting. He aims to maintain his form over the weekend, acknowledging the challenges ahead but feeling confident in his game.
Cheung, who finished second at the Taiwan Glass Taifong Open, continued his good form in this event. The tournament in Morocco is part of the IGPL Tour and the Asian Development Tour, with the upcoming IGPL Bharath Classic set to take place at the same venue.
