Amidst the focus on the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, specialist camps at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru are gaining momentum. A fast-bowling camp, overseen by former pace spearhead Zaheer Khan, is set to conclude on Monday. This camp aims to assist promising pacers from India A and U19 setups who have impressed at the state level and are in contention for national selection.
The CoE, lacking a full-time fast-bowling coach since Troy Cooley’s departure in December 2025, is currently benefiting from the expertise of former India spinner Sunil Joshi for spin bowling. The BCCI recently sought applications for the fast-bowling coach position, with the selection process expected to span one to two months. Additionally, plans are underway for veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh to conduct a camp for talented off-spinners before the commencement of IPL 2026.
In a bid to enhance its coaching staff, the BCCI is actively recruiting for key positions such as Head of Sports Science and Medicine. The appointment process for these roles is anticipated to be finalized within the next one to two months.
