Sreejith V. Nair has been chosen as the new President of the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) at the organization’s 75th Annual General Body Meeting. Nair, a former treasurer and secretary of the association, succeeds Jayesh George, who currently heads the Women’s Premier League. Satheesan K, a former member of the Apex Council, has been appointed Vice President.

The incumbent Secretary Vinod S. Kumar and Joint Secretary Bineesh Kodiyeri will retain their positions. T. Ajith Kumar, Secretary of the Palakkad District Cricket Association, is the new Treasurer, while Muhammed Naufal T., Secretary of the Kasaragod District Cricket Association, is now the General Body Representative to the Apex Council.

The newly elected officials have endorsed a one-year comprehensive development plan to enhance cricket infrastructure in all 14 districts and elevate player development systems to international standards across Kerala. The plan includes major projects under the Kerala Sports Infrastructure Development Scheme, utilizing concessions provided under the Land Act.

KCA plans to construct an international cricket stadium in Kochi in partnership with the state government. Discussions are underway to secure a long-term lease of the Sports Hub International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram and establish a High Altitude Sports Centre in Munnar for cricket, football, and other sports.

Additionally, KCA will soon introduce the Kerala Women’s Premier League to boost women’s cricket in the state. It also aims to establish new academies in Idukki and Thiruvananthapuram to identify young talent and provide scientific, performance-oriented training focusing on fitness, skill development, and modern coaching methods.

The General Body has resolved to enhance the existing High Performance Centre, ensuring advanced training facilities, sports science laboratories, fitness and rehabilitation centers, and access to expert coaches, as per KCA.
