A tragic stampede occurred during prayers at Mata Sheetla Temple in Nalanda, Bihar, resulting in seven fatalities and one person critically injured. The incident took place at the Madhda Sheetla Temple in the Deepnagar police station area. Upon receiving the news, police and locals rushed to the site to provide relief and rescue operations.

Rescue teams are currently present at the location, conducting relief efforts for the affected individuals. The injured victims are being swiftly transported to the nearest hospital for necessary medical treatment. Authorities are on-site investigating the cause of the stampede to ascertain what led to the tragic event.

Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Choudhary, expressed deep sorrow over the incident at the Mata Sheetla Temple. In a statement, Choudhary extended condolences to the families of the deceased and injured devotees, assuring them of all essential support. He emphasized that the government is actively assisting the affected families and ensuring proper medical care for the injured.

In a heartfelt message, Choudhary prayed for peace for the departed souls and strength for the grieving families during this difficult time. He also conveyed his wishes for the swift recovery of those injured in the stampede. This unfortunate incident is reminiscent of past tragedies, such as the crowd surge at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Andhra Pradesh last year and the Maha Kumbh stampede in Prayagraj in February 2025.
