Shares of Star Health and Allied Insurance Company declined over 1% on Friday following a significant reduction in ace investor Rekha Jhunjhunwala’s stake during the June quarter. Rekha Jhunjhunwala’s ownership dropped to 3.04% from 15.57% at the end of the previous quarter, indicating a sale of about 7.38 crore shares.
The specific dates and prices of the share transactions were not immediately available. Additionally, the latest disclosures revealed that the promoter holding under Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and Associates decreased to zero by the end of the June quarter, down from 1.55% as of March 31, 2026.
Further changes in Rekha Jhunjhunwala’s investment portfolio cannot be ruled out as companies continue to disclose their shareholding for the June quarter. The Jhunjhunwala family has a longstanding association with Star Health, which dates back before the company’s IPO.
Rekha Jhunjhunwala’s personal stake in Star Health has fluctuated over recent quarters, with an increase to 15.57% by the December quarter, followed by a sharp reduction in the June quarter of the current fiscal year. Notably, Rekha Jhunjhunwala has disclosed investments in 26 listed companies with a total portfolio value exceeding Rs 47,085.4 crore.
Star Health shares have shown resilience, rebounding strongly over the past year from a 52-week low in July 2025 to reach a high of Rs 623.45 on July 14, 2026.
