The 77th Republic Day celebrations at the state level will occur in Gujarat’s newly formed Vav-Tharad district on Monday. Governor Acharya Devvrat will hoist the national flag and oversee the ceremonial parade, joined by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The event, commencing at 9 a.m. at the helipad ground in Malupur, will feature cultural programs and police demonstrations.
This tradition, started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his time as Gujarat Chief Minister, promotes decentralization and public involvement by celebrating national festivals at the state level in various districts. In Gujarat, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi will raise the flag in Ahmedabad as part of the Republic Day festivities. Additionally, state Cabinet members will lead flag-hoisting ceremonies in different taluka headquarters across the state.
Various state ministers, including Finance Minister Kanu Desai, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani, and others, will unfurl the national flag at designated locations as per the schedule released by the General Administration Department. District Collectors will oversee flag hoisting in nine taluka headquarters, emphasizing unity in diversity and decentralized governance during Gujarat’s 77th Republic Day celebrations.
