Karnataka BJP President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra expressed confidence in the party’s victory in the Bagalkot Assembly constituency. He believes voters will support candidate Veeranna Charantimath, despite opposition from the Chief Minister and Congress. Vijayendra highlighted the growing support for the BJP among voters in the area, with party workers actively campaigning.
Vijayendra criticized the neglect of Bagalkot by the Chief Minister and Congress, stating that the BJP candidate is likely to win by a significant margin. He accused the Congress of using power and resources to influence voters but expressed faith in the electorate’s decision to ensure BJP’s success. The leader emphasized his long-standing commitment to the BJP and denounced what he termed as dynastic politics within the Congress.
Responding to queries about support from expelled BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, Vijayendra praised Charantimath as a leader respected by both parties. He welcomed indirect support from Congress members in Bagalkot and Davanagere South, emphasizing the importance of unity for the BJP candidate’s victory. The leader criticized the state government for delays in salary payments to police personnel and officers, as well as the lack of new development funds.
Vijayendra conducted an election campaign in Bagalkot through a padyatra, seeking votes for Veeranna Charantimath. The campaign saw the participation of various party leaders and workers, including former Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karjol and district president Shantagouda, among others.
