The political legacy of the late Yashwantrao Chavan, crucial in the life of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, is now carried forward by his wife, Sunetra Pawar, who has been appointed as the Deputy CM of Maharashtra. Sunetra Pawar recently visited Satara and Phaltan, where she paid her respects at the Pritisangam in Karad, the memorial of the state’s first Chief Minister.
Throughout his political journey, Yashwantrao Chavan’s memorial and principles held great importance for Ajit Pawar, who often emphasized that his politics and social work were deeply rooted in Chavan’s ideologies. Following his passing, Sunetra Pawar seems to be continuing this tradition by offering floral tributes at Chavan’s memorial and visiting significant places.
Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar also paid her respects at the late Yashwantrao Chavan’s memorial and visited the residence of the late Vidip Jadhav in Phaltan tehsil. She is set to meet with Vidip Jadhav’s family to offer her condolences, following a recent commitment by Rohit Pawar to support the education of Jadhav’s children after a fatal crash in Baramati.
Sunetra Pawar’s visit to Yashwantrao Chavan’s memorial aims to reaffirm the party’s dedication to the secular ideology of Chhatrapati Shivaji, Chhatrapati Shahu, Mahatma Phule, and BR Ambedkar, despite being a part of the ruling alliance in Maharashtra and at the Centre, as per a senior party leader’s statement.
