The CJI, along with other judges, refused the urgent listing request despite claims of police brutality against student protesters. The court expressed disinterest in videos showing alleged police atrocities. The protests during the ‘Sansad Chalo’ march led to multiple FIRs being filed in central Delhi.
Following the protests, several FIRs were registered at different police stations in central Delhi. Investigations are ongoing in all these cases. Delhi Police have refuted social media claims of stone-pelting and police action as false and misleading. The SCBA and SCAORA condemned the alleged use of excessive force against protesters and legal professionals.
