Nationalist Congress Party’s working president, Supriya Sule, expressed her support for Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar potentially becoming the Chief Minister in 2029. She acknowledged the uncertainty of party affiliations during the upcoming elections. Responding to a statement by NCP youth leader Jai Pawar, Sule mentioned the collective desire in Baramati to see Sunetra Pawar in the top role.
Jai Pawar revealed that there was a shared aspiration in Baramati for Ajit Pawar to become Chief Minister, a dream that was cut short by his untimely passing. With Sunetra Pawar’s diligent efforts, there is hope for her candidacy in the 2029 Assembly elections. The political momentum around Sunetra Pawar has been on the rise, especially after her appointment as Maharashtra’s first female Deputy Chief Minister.
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Pravin Darekar acknowledged the expression of party workers’ desires but emphasized that outcomes depend on electoral numbers. Shiv Sena minister Bharat Gogawale and State Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant highlighted the need to wait until 2029 to witness political developments. Sawant also pointed out the challenges of securing the Chief Minister’s post while aligning with the BJP.
Jitendra Awhad from the NCP’s Sharad Pawar faction emphasized the importance of popular mandate in realizing political aspirations. Meanwhile, Supriya Sule dismissed speculations surrounding “Operation Tutari” and reaffirmed their commitment to serving the people with integrity. She criticized the government’s handling of agricultural issues, particularly the plight of onion farmers and the impact of global conflicts on urea availability.
