Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, stated that a wave of change is uniting people across the state before the upcoming polls. Adhikari emphasized the widespread demand for political transformation from various regions in Bengal. He expressed confidence in the BJP forming the state government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Adhikari criticized the ruling Trinamool Congress, accusing them of harboring anti-social elements and extremists. He alleged that individuals associated with unlawful activities received nominations from the party. Adhikari asserted that action against such elements would be taken after the BJP assumes power on May 4, drawing parallels to other states where similar actions were witnessed.
Addressing the Election Commission of India’s role, Adhikari acknowledged their efforts for fair elections but raised concerns about certain police sections not adhering strictly to ECI guidelines. With the West Bengal Assembly elections approaching in April, the political competition has intensified. The polls are scheduled in two phases, covering a total of 294 Assembly constituencies, with Adhikari contesting from Nandigram in Purba Medinipur district.
