Swami Avimukteshwaranand, responding to an FIR filed against him for alleged child sexual abuse, expressed confidence in the legal process. He stated that the case would uncover the truth behind what he called a “false matter.” Avimukteshwaranand emphasized that the ongoing investigation would reveal the inaccuracies in the accusations.
Questioning the credibility of the complainant, the seer highlighted the individual’s criminal background. He accused the person of engaging in extortion by fabricating cases against others. Additionally, Avimukteshwaranand mentioned that the complainant falsely claimed association with Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya.
Maintaining faith in the judiciary, Avimukteshwaranand affirmed that they would not seek withdrawal of cases, unlike Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He asserted that they would continue to advocate for their cause fearlessly, believing that the truth would prevail. Meanwhile, his disciple, Swami Mukundanand Giri, dismissed the allegations as a conspiracy to tarnish the Shankaracharya tradition.
The legal proceedings stem from a complaint filed by Ashutosh Brahmachari, leading to the registration of an FIR by the Jhunsi Police Station in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The case, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, involves accusations of sexual abuse of minors.
