India’s Syndrela Das and Rupam Sardar emerged victorious in the U-17 girls’ and boys’ singles categories at the WTT Youth Contender 2026 in Vadodara. Syndrela defeated Hansini Mathan in the girls’ final, while Rupam secured the boys’ title by beating Soham Mukherjee.

The tournament in Vadodara, featuring 226 players across U-11 to U-19 age groups, is in its second year. Divija Paul and Dev Pranav Bhat also claimed titles in the U-13 girls’ and boys’ singles events, respectively.

In a thrilling final, Divija Paul overcame Harshitha Nurani, while Dev Pranav Bhat triumphed over Ashvajith Muthukumaran. Syndrela’s experience proved vital in her victory, as she outplayed her opponents to clinch the title.

Syndrela will have a shot at the U-19 mixed doubles crown alongside Sarthak Arya. They are set to face top seeds Abhinandh Pradhivadhi and Ananya Muralidharan in the summit clash.
