Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid has alleged that a “special circle” in Pakistan is working to destabilize the region amid heightened tensions between Kabul and Islamabad. Mujahid, speaking in Kandahar, called on neighboring countries to curb these activities and highlighted Afghanistan’s targeted strikes on Pakistani military centers. He emphasized Afghanistan’s pursuit of peaceful conflict resolution through dialogue, which Pakistan has reportedly been reluctant to engage in.
Mujahid further claimed that Pakistan is attempting to instigate conflict by linking its internal issues with Afghanistan, alleging that Pakistani aircraft continue to operate in Afghan airspace. Recent airstrikes by Pakistan in Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktia provinces resulted in casualties among Afghan soldiers, as reported by Ariana News. In response, Afghan Air Force conducted retaliatory strikes on Pakistani military targets in various locations, according to Taliban Deputy Spokesman Hamdullah Fitrat.
Fitrat disclosed that Afghan forces targeted key military positions in Pakistan, citing these actions as responses to Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan. The Afghan Ministry of National Defence reported successful strikes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, resulting in casualties on both sides. Additionally, Afghan civilians, including women and children, were reportedly injured in a missile attack on a refugee camp in Nangarhar province by Pakistani forces.
Pakistan’s ‘Operation Ghazab lil-Haq’ was launched in retaliation to alleged unprovoked firing by Afghan forces, leading to Pakistani Air Force airstrikes on military installations in Afghan territories. The situation remains tense between the two nations as military actions escalate.
