Tamil film producer Kalaipuli S Thanu has decided to postpone the re-release of actor Vijay’s film ‘Theri’ following requests from directors of upcoming films. The new release date for ‘Theri’ will be announced on Monday, as confirmed by Thanu. Initially scheduled for January 23, the re-release was rescheduled to accommodate new film releases.
Director Mohan G Kshatriyan, whose film ‘Draupathi 2’ is set to hit screens on January 23, appealed to Thanu to delay ‘Theri’s’ release. Expressing gratitude for the support to new filmmakers, Kshatriyan urged Thanu to back their film for a successful release. Similarly, the team behind ‘Hotspot 2 Much’, also releasing on the same date, made a similar appeal for the postponement.
Responding to the requests, Kalaipuli S Thanu emphasized the importance of supporting new talent in the industry. He announced that the release date for ‘Theri’ would be rescheduled to facilitate the new film releases. Following this decision, director Mohan G Kshatriyan expressed his appreciation and planned to meet Thanu in person to convey thanks and gratitude.
The film industry professionals praised Thanu’s decision to delay ‘Theri’s’ re-release in favor of supporting new filmmakers and upcoming films. Producer Suresh Kamatchi commended Thanu’s gesture, acknowledging his support for new directors and good films.
