With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections set for April 23, political activities in the state have escalated as major parties strive to secure voter backing. The vote counting is scheduled for May 4, with results to be announced on the same day. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin continued his campaign in Dharmapuri district, a crucial battleground in the north.
Stalin kicked off his day with a morning walk in Palacode, engaging with locals in an informal manner to discuss their concerns and highlight his government’s accomplishments. During the walk, he actively sought support for DMK candidate Senthil Kumar in the Palacode constituency. Interacting with residents, shopkeepers, and commuters, Stalin reinforced the party’s development agenda.
The DMK’s campaign in Dharmapuri forms part of a broader strategy to solidify its voter base and counter the opposition’s aggressive outreach before the polls. Senior leaders from various parties are touring constituencies, conducting roadshows, public meetings, and door-to-door campaigns to enhance voter participation. As the campaign nears its end, the political climate in Tamil Nadu is becoming increasingly charged, with alliances being tested on the ground and candidates making final attempts to sway undecided voters.
