Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led NDA for failing to protect citizens during a conference in Thanjavur district. He highlighted the violence in Manipur, where over 260 people have lost their lives since May 2023, questioning the effectiveness of the “double-engine government.”
Stalin, addressing the Vellam Tamil Women’s Delta Zone Conference, emphasized the historical importance of Thanjavur in the Dravidian movement and its commitment to social justice. He praised the efforts of past leaders in advancing the rights of marginalized groups, including women and Shudras.
The Chief Minister accused PM Modi of spreading misinformation and neglecting issues of women’s safety in BJP-ruled states. He also raised concerns about drug trafficking reports from Manipur and Uttar Pradesh, questioning the Prime Minister’s response to these allegations. Stalin expressed confidence in the people of Tamil Nadu ahead of the upcoming elections, framing it as a choice between the NDA and the state’s interests.
