Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin intensified the DMK’s election drive in Tiruchy, supporting party candidates ahead of the April 23 Assembly elections. Starting his campaign at Gandhi Market, Stalin urged voters to re-elect Inigo S. Irudhayaraj in Tiruchy East, highlighting the government’s welfare programs.
Interacting with locals, traders, and workers, Stalin emphasized the need for continuity in governance and development, endorsing Irudhayaraj for another term. The Tiruchy East constituency witnesses a competitive race between Irudhayaraj and Vijay from the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
Continuing his efforts, Stalin also backed senior DMK leader K.N. Nehru in Tiruchy West, reinforcing the party’s commitment to progress and leadership. Nehru, a seasoned politician, is seeking re-election for the sixth time since 2006, showcasing his strong political presence in the region.
Stalin’s campaign in Tiruchy is part of his broader tour across Tamil Nadu to consolidate support for the DMK-led alliance, with a focus on key constituencies. Urban and semi-urban areas like Tiruchy are pivotal in shaping the electoral landscape, with parties gearing up for a closely contested election on April 23.
