Governor Arlekar highlighted that Eid-ul-Adha signifies sacrifice, compassion, and faith, promoting sharing, unity, and communal harmony while wishing for happiness, peace, and prosperity. Chief Minister Vijay mentioned that Bakrid honors the sacrifice and devotion of Prophet Ibrahim, embodying values of faith, kindness, equality, and humanity, emphasizing the festival’s role in promoting love, religious harmony, and mutual respect in society.
DMK President M.K. Stalin, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and other political leaders also conveyed their Eid greetings. Stalin emphasized that Bakrid embodies the spirit of charity and aiding the less fortunate, expressing enduring ties between the DMK and the Muslim community. Palaniswami underscored that Bakrid teaches lessons on sacrifice, devotion, and humanity, urging people to uphold peace, brotherhood, and social harmony. Indian National League state president Nagore Raja extended greetings to Muslims, urging for communal harmony, peace, and unity.
