Leader of the Opposition and RJD National Executive President Tejashwi Prasad Yadav criticized the Bihar government for its failure to ensure women’s safety in the state. Yadav expressed concern over the continuous incidents of crimes against women, including rape, murder, and assault, despite the new government being in power for over a month. He accused the government of lacking seriousness in addressing women’s safety issues and remaining silent on critical matters affecting women and the public.
Yadav highlighted the rise in atrocities and violence against women in various districts on a daily basis, as reported by the media. He questioned the accountability of the current government, describing it as a selected administration. Yadav emphasized the need for citizens to demand answers from the government regarding the prevailing law and order situation and women’s safety concerns.
The RJD leader announced plans to escalate the party’s efforts in advocating for women’s safety and public welfare, indicating a forthcoming statewide agitation. Apart from addressing law and order issues, Yadav also raised alarms about women’s health, pointing out the prevalence of anaemia among women in Bihar and the inadequacies in nutrition and welfare schemes. He criticized the government for what he perceived as token gestures towards women’s empowerment, emphasizing the need for concrete actions over symbolic measures.
