Telangana officials confirmed that the state has enough LPG reserves to meet the current demand, amidst concerns over the Middle East conflict. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao oversaw a review of LPG stocks, ensuring a seamless supply to 1.29 crore consumers without interruptions.
During a meeting at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat, discussions centered on the state’s LPG supply, storage levels, transportation, and future requirements. The Chief Secretary emphasized the need for continuous monitoring to prevent disruptions, black marketing, and to maintain police oversight at distribution points.
With 1.29 crore domestic LPG connections in the state, officials reassured that ample stocks are in place to meet demands. They highlighted the ongoing supply of LPG cylinders to hospitals and government facilities, with 810 distributorship centers currently operational statewide.
Oil marketing companies were directed to ensure timely deliveries and enhance coordination with relevant departments for consistent supply in rural and urban areas. Notably, HPCL, IOCL, and BPCL representatives, along with State Civil Supplies Commissioner Stephen Ravindra, participated in the meeting.
Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, in a separate video conference with officials, reiterated that there is no scarcity of LPG in Telangana. Emphasizing uninterrupted supply to consumers, hospitals, and government establishments, he urged authorities to combat black marketing and dispel public misconceptions.
