Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy criticized the previous government for not finishing the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project, accusing it of misusing public funds. He emphasized his commitment to completing all irrigation projects to address the water needs of Mahabubnagar district. The Chief Minister vowed to complete the project within two years, urging officials to maintain quality and requesting public support for land acquisition efforts.
Accompanied by several ministers and top officials, CM Revanth Reddy inspected various ongoing projects and expressed disappointment in the previous government’s failure to complete projects in Palamuru. He alleged corruption in project construction during the tenure of his predecessor, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, highlighting significant expenditures on irrigation works, particularly the Kaleshwaram project. The Chief Minister criticized the neglect of the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme, which could have supplied 90 TMC of water.
Reiterating the importance of land acquisition for project completion, CM Revanth Reddy accused the previous government of neglecting this crucial step. He criticized the expenditure on pumps and lifts for alleged commission accumulation, emphasizing the lack of water provision despite substantial spending. The Chief Minister also highlighted the debt incurred for irrigation projects during the previous administration and the efforts of the current government to address financial challenges while prioritizing project completion.
