Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has suggested hosting a yearly follow-up meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Hyderabad every July. This proposal gained unanimous backing from global business leaders and policymakers at the ‘Join The Rise’ event in Davos. Reddy emphasized the need for more frequent follow-ups in today’s fast-paced business environment to facilitate investment decisions.
The recent Telangana Rising Global Summit, which attracted investments exceeding Rs 5.75 lakh crore, was hailed as a significant success by the Chief Minister. Instead of merely signing MoUs at Davos, the focus now is on presenting Telangana’s vision and policies following the Summit’s achievements. Reddy highlighted the success of the Telangana Rising Global Summit in December 2025 and expressed interest in hosting a follow-up Forum in Hyderabad.
During the event, the Telangana delegation, led by ministers D. Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, showcased the state’s transformative projects. These projects include infrastructure development such as roads, Metro rail expansion, and environmental initiatives like river rejuvenation. The delegation also outlined plans for new economic zones, a new city, and a manufacturing zone to serve as an alternative to China.
Telangana’s investment potential was emphasized, with a call for global companies to contribute their technological expertise. The Chief Minister highlighted Hyderabad’s evolution into a global hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and its development as India’s first 24-hour operational city with a focus on the night-time economy along the River Musi. Additionally, plans for Bharat Future City, a smart city initiative covering over 30,000 acres, were discussed.
Actor Chiranjeevi’s presence added a special touch to the dinner event, drawing attention from attendees.
