Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed concern over the recent traffic chaos in Hyderabad during heavy rains. He warned officials that if such disruptions continued, strict action would be inevitable. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for vigilance among officials to prevent inconvenience to the public during the monsoon season.

He directed all personnel, including constables and the Police Commissioner, to be actively present on the roads to maintain order. Revanth Reddy criticized the lack of alertness among municipal, police, and traffic personnel despite prior warnings from the Meteorological Department. He highlighted the need for coordination between departments to avoid similar situations in the future.

The Chief Minister instructed Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and DGP CV Anand to investigate the causes of the traffic chaos and take necessary actions against negligent officials. He stressed the importance of proactive measures aligned with meteorological forecasts to mitigate disruptions. Revanth Reddy warned of strict consequences if traffic mismanagement persisted during rainy periods.

He also urged officials to develop action plans based on data regarding waterlogging, accident-prone areas, and traffic congestion hotspots during rains. The Chief Minister demanded immediate power restoration in areas affected by tree falls and called for the deployment of mobile transformers as needed. Additionally, he mandated the continuous presence of Electricity Department personnel in the field throughout the rainy season.

In response to the weather conditions, Revanth Reddy directed irrigation officials to implement robust measures at all projects statewide. He insisted on adherence to operational protocols and required engineers to remain stationed at project sites during the monsoon. The Chief Minister warned of strict repercussions for engineers leaving project sites without proper authorization.

Rajya Sabha member Vem Narender Reddy, Government Advisor Sudarshan Reddy, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, and DGP CV Anand, along with senior officials from various departments, participated in the review meeting.
