Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) conducted a one-day operation across the state, resulting in the arrest of 34 cyber offenders. Among those apprehended, 24 were involved in Child Sexual Exploitative and Abusive Material (CSEAM) offenses, while the remaining 10 were mule account holders engaged in cyber frauds.
The operation, involving 18 teams, was concentrated in Hyderabad city and other district units. TGCSB director Shikha Goel highlighted that this operation was the second of its kind, targeting repeat offenders engaged in the dissemination of sexually explicit content involving minors.
The arrested offenders, aged between 18 and 48, included individuals from working and middle-class backgrounds, with one being a state government employee. The content primarily featured foreign victims aged between 4 to 14 years, with a majority being girls. The efforts of the Child Protection Unit within TGCSB led to the identification and rescue of a four-year-old victim.
In a specific case, a resident of Rajendranagar, Kandhada Srikanth, who worked as a security guard, was arrested for abusing a minor girl and circulating the indecent act online. The TGCSB’s proactive measures also led to the arrest of a government employee involved in online CSEAM cases.
