The Telangana government is set to introduce the ‘Indiramma Jeevitha Bima’ (Life Insurance) scheme statewide on June 2, coinciding with the state formation day. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikarmarka hailed the scheme as historic, aiming to offer insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh to 1.15 crore families without any discrimination based on caste or religion. Additionally, the government plans to support women entrepreneurs by providing solar power plants and interest-free loans totaling Rs 1 lakh crore for women’s self-help groups.
The state cabinet recently approved the second phase of ‘Indiramma’ houses, targeting the construction of 250,000 homes for underprivileged families. Financial aid ranging from Rs 2-3 lakh will be allocated to complete stalled house constructions. Each assembly constituency is slated to receive 2,000 houses under this initiative. Furthermore, the government aims to complete approximately 100,000 Indiramma houses by June 2, with ongoing construction from the first phase.
In a bid to enhance welfare measures, the Telangana government is focused on delivering benefits to marginalized families through various initiatives like providing quality rice, free electricity units under the ‘Gruha Jyothi’ scheme, and constructing ‘Indiramma’ houses. The government’s commitment to fulfilling promises and prioritizing welfare is steering Telangana towards progress and inclusivity.
