Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) leader K. Kavitha has urged the Election Commission of India to explain the alteration of voter details for 1 lakh individuals in Kodangal constituency, represented by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Official records and TRS evidence reveal that within 18 months, 1 lakh out of 2.46 lakh voters in Kodangal had their details modified.
Kavitha highlighted that over 11,000 voters are listed on Karnataka’s electoral rolls, with approximately 33,000 duplicate entries identified, exceeding the winning margin in 2023. She emphasized the need for the Election Commission to address how these discrepancies in voter data occurred. The TRS leader expressed concerns about the electoral roll’s integrity, questioning whether these irregularities influenced the Chief Minister’s victory.
According to Kavitha, an examination by her party uncovered 22,433 duplicate voter entries in Kodangal. She further alleged that around 11,000 voters are simultaneously registered in Kodangal and Karnataka’s neighboring Sedam Assembly constituency, casting doubt on the Election Commission’s ability to detect inter-state duplication. Kavitha called for transparency and urged the Election Commission to disclose all relevant information to the public, emphasizing the importance of maintaining public trust in the electoral process.
