In Mizoram, the Territorial Army, in collaboration with a drone lab, organized a lecture-cum-demonstration for young NCC students to educate and inspire future leaders. The event, held in Lunglei by the 23 Sector Assam Rifles, showcased advanced drone technologies used in modern operations by security forces. The interactive session aimed to familiarize cadets with the capabilities and strategic importance of unmanned aerial systems in warfare and surveillance.
The Defence Spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat, highlighted the enthusiasm and curiosity displayed by the cadets during the live demonstration. The session provided valuable insights into emerging defence technologies and aimed to empower the young generation with knowledge of cutting-edge drone technology. This initiative is a significant step towards nurturing young minds and preparing them for future warfare domains.
The Assam Rifles also conducted a drone awareness and training session for CISF personnel in Agartala, Tripura’s capital, to address the challenges posed by the increasing use of drones in civilian and security sectors. The programme focused on familiarizing participants with various drone types, capabilities, security risks, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for effective response. The practical training segment included hands-on exposure to drone operations and basic handling techniques for the personnel.
In another exercise in Peren district of Nagaland, the Assam Rifles, under the Indian Army’s Spear Corps, conducted a two-day drone exercise at the Drone Training Node in Jalukie. The exercise aimed at enhancing tactical surveillance and technical handling skills, emphasizing the importance of drone technology in modern military operations.
