Daughters from ordinary families have excelled in the Punjab School Education Board’s Class VIII merit list, securing 19 of the top 20 positions. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced that these top students will receive direct admission to Schools of Eminence without any entrance test. He also awarded the top three achievers with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each and emphasized the importance of hard work and choosing the right role models.

The Chief Minister praised the students for their confidence, discipline, and determination, attributing their success to the government’s investment in education. He expressed the government’s commitment to nurturing every child’s aspirations through modern schools. CM Mann highlighted that girls dominated the merit list this year, securing 19 out of the top 20 positions, showcasing their excellence and determination.

CM Mann shared that the first position was secured by the daughter of a brick-kiln worker, while the second and third positions were achieved by the daughters of a tiles shop owner and a government primary school teacher, respectively. He commended the students from humble backgrounds for setting new benchmarks in education and emphasized their self-confidence, hard work, and dedication. The Chief Minister underscored the remarkable achievement of girls securing the top positions, with only one boy at the 20th rank, emphasizing their unparalleled success in various fields.
