Shiv Sena-UBT Chief Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray have decided to take to the streets in solidarity with students. A joint protest march is scheduled in Mumbai on July 26. Raj Thackeray will hold a press conference to provide further details about the event before the rally.
The Thackeray brothers, known for their earlier collaboration to uphold the Marathi language’s pride, are now uniting again for the students’ future. Their joint protest has garnered significant attention. The leaders have extended their support to Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke, who is currently protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.
Amid mounting concerns over various issues, including the Union Education Minister’s refusal to resign and the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the Thackeray brothers have decided to hit the streets directly. The decision comes in response to the use of baton charges against protesting students. All eyes are now on what the leaders will address during the upcoming protest march.
Earlier, MNS leader Amit Thackeray and Shiv Sena-UBT leader Aditya Thackeray visited the protesting students at Shivtirth in Mumbai. Aditya Thackeray emphasized the power of youth unity and urged for continued passion. He announced a collective singing of the National Anthem at Shivaji Park on July 24. Praising the Mumbai Police for their sensitivity, he highlighted the difference in handling protests compared to Delhi.
Uddhav Thackeray expressed his support for the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar and assured continuous backing to the movement demanding the Education Minister’s resignation. He emphasized the need for systemic change beyond mere resignations. The police in Maharashtra made special arrangements following protests organized by CJP, with extensive social media monitoring and intelligence gathering to maintain law and order.
