Thailand’s Tanapat Pichaikool emerged victorious at the USD 160,000 AM Green IGPL Morocco Rising Stars 2026, defeating Bangladesh’s Siddikur Rahman by two shots. Pichaikool, aged 26, maintained his lead with a 2-under 70 in the final round after an impressive eight-under-par 64 in the third round.
Teen golfer Kartik Singh, the top Indian finisher, closed with a 1-under 71 to secure the Tied-12th position despite a late double bogey and a back-nine bogey. Singh finished the tournament at 9-under over four days, with a strong start but faltered with a double bogey and a bogey towards the end.
Pichaikool expressed satisfaction with his performance, acknowledging the challenging course conditions with strong winds and tricky greens. He aimed for a better finish but was content with his 12th place and being the top Indian player in a competitive field.
The next best Indian performers were Trishul Chinnappa and Kartik Sharma, both IGPL players, finishing Tied-28th at 5-under. Raghav Chugh and Syed Saqib Ahmed ended Tied-35th, while other Indian players secured varying positions in the tournament.
Pichaikool secured his victory with a par on the final hole, maintaining a two-shot lead over Runchanapong Youprayong, who finished third. Siddikur Rahman claimed second place, earning a spot in the upcoming US$500,000 Bharat Classic Asian Tour event.
American golfer Henry Chung secured fourth place, followed by Hong Kong’s Matthew Cheung and Ho Ho Yue. Pichaikool, a former Asian Tour winner, expressed nerves during the final day but was excited about the upcoming Asian Tour event at the same venue.
Rahman, despite finishing second, was pleased with his performance, securing a spot in the IGPL Bharath Classic. The Bangladeshi golfer, accompanied by his family in Morocco, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete in the next tournaments.
The Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort in Morocco will host the upcoming IGPL Bharath Classic and the International Series Morocco, offering significant prize money for the competitors.
