Three individuals have been apprehended regarding the suspected gang-rape of a young woman from West Bengal in Mysuru, Karnataka. The incident, reported in the T. Narasipura Town Police Station, involved the victim being forcibly taken to a lodge where she was assaulted. The accused, identified as Kiran, Kishore, and Riyan, were promptly arrested within 24 hours of the complaint.
Authorities are currently verifying the details and allegations in the ongoing investigation. The victim claimed she was coerced into a car at a bus stand and taken to a lodge where the assault occurred. The police acted swiftly, arresting the accused and presenting them before a court for judicial custody. Investigators are examining all aspects, including the victim’s voluntary involvement with the accused.
In response to concerns for women’s safety, immediate action was taken by the police. The accused assert the victim accompanied them willingly and that a dispute arose over a video recording at the lodge. They contend that after the altercation, they returned the woman to her location, where she later reported the incident. Police are verifying the victim’s background and statements from the accused to establish the case’s facts.
Authorities are particularly attentive to the matter due to Mysuru’s status as a prominent tourist destination. The city is currently preparing for the upcoming Dasara celebrations. Notably, a tragic incident in 2025 near Mysuru Palace involving the assault and murder of a 10-year-old child had led to the arrest of a suspect after a manhunt by the Mysuru Police.
