Three people lost their lives, and two others sustained serious injuries in Bihar’s Madhubani district following a head-on collision between two motorcycles near Ganesh Chowk in Padma Panchayat under the Ladaniya Police Station area. The tragic incident has brought sorrow to the border region, leaving the affected families in mourning.

According to Ladaniya Station House Officer (SHO) Anup Kumar, the collision occurred when two speeding motorcycles veered out of control and collided near Ganesh Chowk. The impact was so severe that all three riders died instantly at the scene.

One of the deceased individuals was identified as Sachin Kumar Kamat, who was traveling from Kumarkhat to Jaynagar when the accident occurred. The other motorcycle involved was carrying a couple, Rajan Nadaf and his wife, Rokso Khatun, who were on their way from Kadwahi village to Ladaniya.

The injured parties were promptly taken to the Sub-Divisional Hospital for initial treatment, after which they were referred to Darbhanga due to the critical nature of their injuries. The injured individuals have been identified as Sujit Kumar Kamat, the son of Shridev Kamat from Khutouna, and 18-year-old Karan Kumar from Ramakht.

Residents alerted the police immediately after the accident, leading to the arrival of a team from Ladaniya Police Station to carry out necessary procedures. In a unique turn of events, the families of the deceased opted not to pursue legal action, with the victims’ fathers submitting requests to the police to refrain from filing a First Information Report (FIR) or conducting post-mortem examinations.

Following the completion of required legal formalities and as per the families’ wishes, the police released the bodies to the relatives for the final rites. The incident has deeply impacted the local community, eliciting expressions of sorrow over the loss of three lives in a single tragic event. The occurrence has also reignited concerns regarding road safety and reckless driving on rural roads in the area.
