Three individuals lost their lives, and two others sustained critical injuries in a tragic accident in Dardaua village of Bhind district. The incident occurred when a pickup truck, carrying livestock, collided with a tree after the driver lost control. The crash took place early in the morning, as confirmed by local police officials.
The victims, including 50-year-old Preetam Manjhi and his son Sunil Manji from Chholi village, along with Upendra Rana from Lakhnauti village, were on their way to Dardaua village with a buffalo. The impact of the collision was so severe that three passengers died on the spot, while two others, Ramrup Baghel and Manvendra Thakur, suffered life-threatening injuries but survived the initial crash.
Following the accident, police teams from the Mehgaon station arrived promptly to manage the situation, recover the bodies, and commence rescue efforts. The injured individuals were swiftly taken to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention. However, due to the seriousness of their condition, they were later transferred to a specialized medical facility in Gwalior for advanced care.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the driver losing control of the pickup truck. Initial findings suggest that the combination of the vehicle’s load and the force of the impact with the tree caused the accident. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations before being handed over to their families in Gwalior.
